Ingredients for 4:
- 4 small bags of your favourite tortilla chips (we always do Doritos)
- 1 pound ground beef/turkey/chicken (or your choice of protein)
- 1 packet of taco seasoning
- Shredded lettuce
- Diced tomatoes
- Chopped onions
- Sliced jalapeños (if you like it spicy)
- Shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend works great)
- Sour cream
- Salsa (choose your preferred heat level)
- Guacamole or diced avocados
- Optional toppings: black olives, cilantro, hot sauce, or any other taco topping favourites
Instructions:
1. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess grease, then add the taco seasoning and water as instructed on the packet. Stir well and simmer for a few minutes until the flavours meld together.
2. Turn your taco bag sideways and cut open along the long end, then crush those chips!
3. Start layering your toppings. Begin with a generous scoop of the seasoned protein, followed by shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, chopped onions, jalapeños (if desired), shredded cheese, sour cream, salsa, and guacamole or whatever your heart desires!
4. Get creative! Add any additional toppings that tickle your taste buds. The more, the merrier!
