One of my favourite go to dinners is Sushi bowls! It's healthy and fast which are two things I need during the week! I keep a package of the prawns stocked in the freezer for when I need a quick meal... I get mine at Superstore!
These ones are perfect for a family with many different likes and dislikes like ours! It's a build your own bowl style dinner and choose your own sauce!
Our standard bowl would be rice, topped with sliced cucumber, avocado, edamame beans, red or green onion, pickled ginger, prawn tempura, sesame seeds and Spicy Mayo Soy Sauce (which is just a scoop of mayo mixed with Soy Sauce and a dash of sriracha - alter amounts until you get the taste you want).
The kids like to keep it more simple and stick to rice, avocado, cucumber, tempura and no sauce.
If I have carrots or radishes or other veggies on hand (especially ones the kids will like), I will dice those up and add them in too. We will also substitute the prawns for crab, tuna poke or crispy tofu and they are all equally delicious. (If I do the tofu I like to add fresh mango + cilantro).
The options are really endless! It's always a crowd pleaser and can be tweaked in so many different ways!
